DALLERY

Whether or not images created by AI are considered as art is a complex question that has been debated by artists, philosophers, and art critics for many years. There is no one definitive answer, as it depends on a variety of factors, including one’s definition of art.

Some people believe that AI-generated images cannot be considered art because they are not created by a human artist. They argue that art is a uniquely human endeavor that requires creativity, intentionality, and emotion. AI, on the other hand, is a machine that is programmed to generate images based on a set of algorithms.

Others believe that AI-generated images can be considered art if they meet the same criteria as human-created art. They argue that art is not simply about the artist, but also about the viewer. If an AI-generated image evokes an emotional response or inspires thought in the viewer, then it can be considered art, regardless of who created it.

Ultimately, whether or not AI-generated images are considered art is a matter of personal opinion. There is no right or wrong answer. However, it is important to have a thoughtful and informed discussion about this issue in order to better understand the nature of art and the role of AI in the creative process.

Here are some of the arguments for and against considering AI-generated images as art:

Arguments for:

  • AI-generated images can be just as creative and innovative as human-created art.
  • AI-generated images can be used to express a wide range of emotions and ideas.
  • AI-generated images can be used to tell stories and explore new perspectives.
  • AI-generated images can be used to challenge traditional notions of art and creativity.

Arguments against:

  • AI-generated images are not created by a human artist.
  • AI-generated images are often created using algorithms that are not fully understood.
  • AI-generated images can be used to create deceptive or misleading images.
  • AI-generated images can be used to perpetuate harmful stereotypes and biases.

It is important to note that the debate about AI-generated art is still ongoing. As AI technology continues to develop, it is likely that we will see even more creative and innovative AI-generated images in the future. It will be interesting to see how the art world evolves in response to this new technology.

AI generated a Dutch ship arriving at Bantam Bay (Banten) the East Indies (later became Dutch East Indies and now Indonesia).

ART OR NOT ART

At first Fedor was very much irritated by the claim that AI-generated Images depicting art, is or could be considered as art. Some say it’s the same as stealing art(s) created by real artists ! … But then … Fedor started to play around with AI image creator(s) and it’s really amazing ! Art or not art no longer became an issue. Call it rat atr rta … whatever it’s still the same for Fedor, amazing.

Consider this. Look at this picture:

It’s a picture created by AI or a “painting” in the style of Edward Hopper, depicting Jackson Pollock and Lee Kresner.

In reality, Edward Hopper never painted neither Lee Kresner nor Jackson Pollock. I don’t know, perhaps they never met and live in different times.

And so ? Is that picture not an art ? Fedor does not anymore care ! Fedor likes it !
